Welcome to PridePoint Health: Our Journey to Compassionate, Personalized Care in the Pacific Northwest

As a primary care physician who was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have spent years working within the traditional healthcare system. This journey has taught me invaluable lessons, not only in refining my skills as a medical doctor but also in gaining a deeper understanding of the healthcare system—its beneficiaries and those who bear the cost. Data from Harris Poll reinforce what I've seen firsthand: patients are increasingly dissatisfied with the traditional healthcare model. Through my experience, I've come to recognize the urgent need for a model that allows for a more compassionate, patient-centered approach that prioritizes the doctor-patient relationship over the profits of big healthcare systems and corporate insurance stakeholders. It was this deep understanding and firsthand experience that led me to found PridePoint Health. I wanted to break free from the constraints of the insurance-driven system and serve my community with the compassion, dignity, and higher standard of care that every person deserves. At PridePoint, our mission is to put patients first, offering care that truly makes a difference in their lives.

PridePoint is a direct care clinic providing comprehensive primary care, sexual health services, and gender affirming care via in-office visits and telemedicine throughout Oregon and Washington. By embracing the direct care model, we eliminate the time-consuming and costly barriers imposed by corporate insurance companies, allowing us to focus solely on our patients. This approach saves time and money, enabling us to offer greater value through longer appointments, same/next business day availability, and prompt, personalized responses directly from your doctor.

At PridePoint Health, we believe the doctor-patient relationship is sacred—something often lost in the insurance-driven system. Traditional healthcare lacks the time and support needed to build trusting, long-term relationships, which are essential for meaningful health improvements. Additionally, insurance-tied primary care creates major gaps in care, especially when patients change jobs or lose their doctor due to burnout and turnover. Patients are spending more and more time coordinating their own care due to the failures of the healthcare system.

By breaking free from the insurance-based model, we aim to restore the doctor-patient relationship to its rightful importance. Our care is personalized and independent of your insurance coverage. Learn more about this innovative and cost-friendly approach in our blog post that dives into the benefits of the direct primary care model.

PridePoint was also created to address the unique needs of my community—the LGBTQ+ community. Health disparities within this community are well known, with specific needs like hormone therapy, HIV care, and PrEP requiring specialized, knowledgeable care. Our practice focuses on bridging this gap, providing comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to these needs. With lived experience and work within the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the challenges many face in healthcare, including discrimination and judgment. At PridePoint, we strive to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing all aspects of their healthcare.

We are thrilled to open our doors November, 2024! We are now pre-enrolling patients, so please review the services we offer and sign up or schedule a meet and greet if you’re interested in joining the PridePoint community.

We look forward to being a trusted partner in your health and well-being!

Sincerely,

Dr. Coe
